Lg tv wont connect to wifi4/17/2023 It does say "manufactured september 2017" so I guess I know how old it is now. The router settings have not been changed and a router reset was required to get the Wifi working again for the rest of the house, but I just unplugged the router for a hot minute, plugged it back in, and everything was gucci for every other wifi enabled device here. Hi all, having the same problem (after needing half a day, to get the DM installed) I need my LG OLED TV connected to Wifi (due to the fact that for some. This requires that the software should be properly updated, as well as that the configuration must be completed correctly. The only things that might have changed is the breaker was tripped a couple times due to faulty outlets in another room in the apt and shut power the whole apt off. The LG TV will not connect to WiFi effectively in this situation due to a technical issue. It’s possible that your TV is running on outdated software, which would explain why the firmware version is outdated. Tbh, I haven't used my TV in a month or two because I was really busy at work and with holiday prep and this is the first time I've turned it on in some time. The router is located in the same room as this TV so I don't think the router is too far. It was my nephew's and he kept throwing hot wheels at it so it was confiscated. The TV was gifted to me by my brother upon moving into my new place (a year ago) but the TV is older. I never had to re-enable anything or change anything after the initial setup over a year ago. Previously, I was able to connect to home network and everything worked fine. I should have stated in my post that this is an established TV that is only recently showing this issue. Thank you all for your help, though! and happy holidays!!Īre you 100% sure this LG TV has a working WiFi interface I tried some of the remedies that seem odd but okay whatever (changing the time zone, turning automatic time zone off, turning off standby mode, unplugging the TV for 2+ minutes) but none of it worked and I want to avoid completely factory resetting my TV if possible.Īll I wanna do is play christmas songs thru Spotify on my fancy sound bar while I clean and prep for xmas day :(Įdit: I ended up finishing cleaning and prepping and playing xmas music through my PC speakers (which are vastly inferior.) The general consensus seems to be "wifi hardware has failed" or "connect through ethernet and try the firmware update" which would take a lot of effort and I would have to purchase a spare ethernet cable, which quite frankly just isn't worth it for how often I use the wifi functions on my TV. But I can't find a single setting or option anywhere on my TV to "turn on the wifi" and every guide says "just select a network" (there is no list displayed.) LG TV won't display any networks, it just says "Turn on the WiFi to see a list of networks". literally my TV is the only problem (even the other LG TV in the house is fine) This is so annoying because all the guides I'm trying to read online are made for tech illiterate people with such incredibly unhelpful tips as "make sure your router is turned on" and "have you made sure your TV is plugged in?" For the record: yes, my router is on and yes, it's working perfectly.
